Margie Jean MacKenzie, 85, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa died at 10:50 a.m. July 2, 2015, at Mayfair Assisted Living in Mesa, Arizona. She was born January 31, 1930, in Popejoy, Iowa , to Albert and Henrietta A. Wentzl Petrie. She married Edward J. Mackenzie, Jr. on May 29, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2010. A graduate of Popejoy High School, Margie was a homemaker. She loved bowling with her friends and fishing/camping with her family. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and had belonged to the Fairview P.T.A. and had been a Cub Scout leader. Margie was involved in Midwest Little League Baseball. Margie had been a resident of Mesa, Arizona, since 2011.

Surviving are three sons, Edward J. (Rebecca) MacKenzie, III of Mesa, Arizona, Randy J. (Cathy) MacKenzie of Grandview, Missouri, and William J. (Nancy) MacKenzie of Apache Junction, Arizona; three grandchildren, Nathan MacKenzie, Zachary MacKenzie and Sara MacKenzie; two great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Flynn MacKenzie; a sister, Pauline Beard of Moline, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Ann MacKenzie; a son, Richard J. MacKenzie; two brothers, Franklin and Woodrow Petrie.

Her body has been cremated, and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
