Violet Darlene, Infant daughter of Louis J. and Bertha Violet Scheppler was born in Wall Lake township, Jan. 16, 1923, and died Feb. 28, 1923, aged 1 month and 12 days. For six weeks this home of love was cheered and brightened by the sweet
baby smiles and winning ways and then disease laid its blighting hand upon her and she quietly fell asleep and the little life returned to God who gave it. To mourn the loss of this little one are father, mother, one brother, three sisters, numerous relatives and to them, friends extend heartfelt sympathy. Short funeral services were conducted at the home of the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Simpson of Galt, Friday afternoon, March 2 at 2:00 p. m. Rev. Bump, pastor of the Galt Congregational church spoke comforting words from II Kings 4-26: "It is well with the Child." A quartette composed of Mrs. Anna Bump, Mrs. Olive Cundall, Ed Patterson and Glen State very sweetly sang two appropriate hymns after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Galt cemetery.
