September 19, 1932 --- June 21, 1996

Roger Spellmeyer, 63, Webster City, died as the result of a one-car accident on Friday, June 21, 1996 in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, with Dr. Craig Bex officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 191. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Monday until the time of service.

Roger William Spellmeyer, son of William and Lenore Ulstad Spellmeyer, was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Eagle Grove. He attended school in Woolstock, graduating in 1951. He then started employment at Frigidaire. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army Infantry as a company clerk. On June 26, 1955, he married Mary E. Keller in Woolstock. The couple resided in Webster City. He retired in 1994 after 42 years with Frigidaire.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Spellmeyer, Chicago, Ill., David and Kay Spellmeyer, Sioux Falls, S.D.; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Allen Treibel, Webster City; grandchildren, Nicholas, Noel and Nathan Treibel, Patrick, Allison and Derek Spellmeyer; special friend, Michael Moody, Chicago; brothers, Delmer Spellmeyer, Webster City, Kenneth Spellmeyer, Woolstock; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Gatewood; and brother, James Spellmeyer. Mr. Spellmeyer was a member of the First Assembly of God in Fort Dodge.
