Evelyn Lorene (Meineke) Schroder, 89, of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services for Evelyn Schroder will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Brian Hacklander officiating. Burial will be held at the Galt Cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour before the services Saturday at the funeral home.

Evelyn, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Waddell) Meineke, was born July 4, 1925 in rural Galt, Iowa. She attended country school, Dows High School, and Ellsworth Junior College at Iowa Falls. She taught school in New Providence and Sheffield, Iowa. She married Mitchell D. Schroder in 1948. Evelyn was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, Iowa where she taught Sunday School for many years. After moving to Clarion, she went to the United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Isabella Thoburn Circle.

Evelyn is survived by daughters, Becky Jo (Roger) Huetig and Kay (Brian) Hacklander; grandchildren, Wendy (Troy) Anderson, Patricia (Phil Kennedy) Huetig, Colin Hacklander, and Caitlyn Hacklander; great-grandchildren, Chase Anderson and Laurynn Anderson; brother Gerald (Sadie) Meineke; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Mitchell, parents Clarence and Ruth Meineke, daughter Darla Schroder, son Bill Schroder, and sister Beatrice Meineke. Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
