Mark Steven Jacobson, 56, of Woolstock, died on Sunday, April 26, 2015, as a result of a car accident. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Jacobson née Archer. Memorial Services will be at 1:30 pm at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove with Pastor Heather Dorr officiating, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Surviving are his children, Courtney Jean Jacobson and Preston Louis Graham Jacobson, both of Eagle Grove; his brothers, Bruce Alan Archer (Liesa Thill), Baxter, Minnesota, and Father Scott Lee Archer, Fairbury, Illinois; and his mother, Marian Jean Smith (Gilbert), Eagle Grove. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Ethan Louis Rose and Nydia Michelle Lopez, both of Eagle Grove.

Mark was born April 17, 1959, at Charles City and attended Eagle Grove High School, graduating in 1977. He studied at Westmar College, Le Mars, and the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. At the time of his death, he was employed at Mertz Engineering, Webster City.

WOOLSTOCK -- One person was killed when a pickup rolled off the road in southern Wright County on Sunday. Mark Jacobson, 56, of Woolstock was killed when he lost control of a southbound pickup at a lefthand curve on Franklin Avenue in rural Woolstock, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report. The 2015 Ford pickup went off the righthand side of the road, and Jacobson overcorrected and veered the vehicle to the left, troopers said. Jacobson's truck crossed the center line and rolled, throwing him from the truck, according to the report.
