CLEAR LAKE, IA -- Patricia Eireen Notestine, 64, Clear Lake, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. A memorial Mass for Patricia will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. South, Clear Lake, with Reverend John A. Gossman officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Lake View Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a scriptural wake service at 5:30 P.M. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake.
Patricia Eireen Notestine was born on March 17, 1951, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of John Richard and Eireen (Knudsen) Notestine. Patricia attended and graduated from Eagle Grove High School, and continued her education earning her BA degree in education from Iowa State in Ames, and her master’s degree in speech pathology from UNI in Cedar Falls. Patricia worked with students who had speech impediments in the Clear Lake school system, until her retirement in 2014.
She enjoyed reading, very interested in politics, was very involved in with Pen Pals with young children. Patricia loved and enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews. Patricia was very active and a member at St. Patrick’s Catholic in Clear Lake, taught RCIA at the church, was a student of church history, and a member of P.E.O. NW.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Dick and Eireen Notestine of Okoboji, Iowa; her brother, Thomas (Molly) Notestine of Lee Summit, Missouri; nephew, Kurt Knudsen of Eagle Grove, Iowa; her uncles, Roger (Nancy) Knudsen of Canton, Ohio, Rodney (Beverly) Knudsen of Ankeny, Iowa, Jerry Knudsen of Humboldt, Iowa, Donald Knudsen of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Steven Notestine of St. Louis, Missouri, Dale (Beverly) Notestine of St. Louis, Missouri; and her aunt, Kaaren (Michael) Nelson of Bettendorf, Iowa; as well as many other extended relatives and friends.
