June 21, 1877 --- September 11, 1964

Mrs. Roy Comstock, 77, died Friday morning Sept. 11 in the Sheldon Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for a week. She had been with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Comstock in Sanborn for a week following a few weeks stay in a Ft. Dodge hospital for tests and examinations. While in Sanborn she had a stroke and was moved to the Sheldon hospital. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyle Lieder in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Comstock is survived by her son Jack and two step-sons, Winfield Comstock of Eagle Grove and Kenneth Comstock of Omaha and one sister Mrs. Norman Arne of Eagle Grove. Mrs. Comstock was born in Eagle Grove, June 21, 1887 to parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Cowan. She was a life long resident of this community. The Comstocks farmed for many years and when Mr. Comstock retired they moved to their home on South Lincoln Ave. Mr. Comstock died in 1953. In addition to the immediate family, those from out of town who attended the services Monday were, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Connor of Iowa Falls; Mrs. Sidney Armstrong, Mrs. Flora Dale and daughter Jeanette of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Younie of Manilla and Mrs. Vivian Goering of Webster City.
