December 22, 1904 --- January 23, 1968

Winfield C. Comstock, 63, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon near Winterset, Iowa. Mr. Comstock had gone to his farm near Winterset with his son-in-law Arden Thompson, when he became suddenly ill, and died a short time later. Funeral services will be this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Methodist Church. Rev. Bernard Olson will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Comstock is survived by his wife, one son Robert of Eagle Grove, two daughters, Mrs. Arden Thompson of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Richard Kist of Clinton. Other survivors are one brother, Kenneth Comstock of Omaha, Neb. and fourteen grandchildren. Mr. Comstock was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Comstock (Nora Baker) and lived most of his life on a farm east of Eagle Grove. He was married Oct. 1923 to Gladys Bernard and they farmed for a number of years moving to their Eagle Grove home in 1945.
