Funeral services for Dorman Shadle, 63, Dakota City, were held Wednesday May 2, at the Mason - Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt, with burial in Union Cemetery, Livermore. He died Sunday, April 29, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. The Mason - Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Edmund Weiss officiating. Casket bearers were Bobby Hahn, Mike Knowles, Elmer Zinnel, Kenny Thompson
George Risdall, and Jerry Guerttman.Survivors include his wife, Ethel (Bonnie); two sons, Dean of Humboldt and Rod of Rutland; daughter, Pat Stein of Dakota City; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Pepper of Denver, CO, and Mary Lou Miles of Mesa, AZ; and a brother, Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dorman Shadle, son of Victor and Grace (Tale) Shadle, was born April 10, 1927, in Wright County. In 1948 he married Ethel (Bonnie) Knowles at Humboldt and they lived most of their married lives in Dakota City. He was employed by the Agrico Plant in Humboldt as a maintenance man for 13 years. He then owned and operated the Shadle Salvage business in Dakota City for 16 years.
