Funeral services were held at Osage July 29, 1972 for Mrs. John (Ada) Rolland, 71, who died July 26 in Mitchell County Memorial Hospital where she had been confined since May 14. The Rev. Richard Thompson associate pastor was in charge of the rites in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons. Burial was in Osage Cemetery.

Ada Violet Monson was born September 7, 1900 at Bode, the daughter of Mons O. and Mathilda Olson Monson. She grew to womanhood at Bode. Leo Besch and Ada Monson were married January 12, 1927. He died in 1935. In October 1938, she was married to John Rolland. They farmed near Thor for a number of years until they purchased a farm West of Osage in 1951. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and ALCW Miriam Circle. Preceding her in death were her husbands, an infant son, her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Surviving are two sons Robin Rolland of Osage and David Rolland of St. Paul; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. John Jung (Thelma) of Orion, Michigan.
