Leonard George Ryan, Smithland, Iowa died on January 4, 1983, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, following a short illness. Death came at the age of 68 years 7 months and 12 days. He was born May 23, 1914, at Eldora, Iowa. He married Evelyn Peterson April 6, 1938, at Clarion, Iowa. The couple had lived in Smithland the last 37 years. Mr. Ryan was a welder for Westendorf Manufacturing Co. for 33 years until his retirement.
