February 14, 1948 --- December 9, 1993

Jim A. Larsen, 45, of rural Clear Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1993, at his home. He was cremated and inurnment will take place in the spring in Clear Lake Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Music Fund. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of services.

He was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Carl E. and Ann (Jindrich) Larsen. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1966. He graduated from North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City and University of Houston, Houston, Texas, with a degree in pharmacy. He worked in a pharmacy in Houston, Texas and worked in East Glacier Park in Montana for many summers. He moved back to Clear Lake where he worked part-time for pharmacies in North Iowa, his most recent one being in Clarion, Iowa. He worked with his brother, John, in the Clear Lake Stained Glass business. He enjoyed hiking in Glacier Park, reading, gardening, biking, playing basketball, and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents, Carl and Ann Larsen, Clear Lake; five sisters, Barbara Bentele and her husband John, Mason City, Katie Virden and her husband, Tim, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Julie Tiedemann and her husband Merlyn, Mason City, Mary Huey and her husband, David, Medford, Ore., and Jeannette Jones and her husband, Mike, Anchorage, Alaska; three brothers, John P. Larsen and his wife, Mary, Clear Lake, Matt Larsen and his wife Sue, Clear Lake and Chris Larsen and his wife Kristi, Mason City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Paul.
