September 24, 1920 --- February 28, 2015

Lucille Frances Luick, age 94, of Belmond passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Funeral services for Lucille Luick will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 6, 2015 at Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Robert L. Dugger will preside over the ceremony. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation for Lucille will be 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Thursday March 5, 2015 at the funeral home and will continue for one hour prior to services on Friday. The family will greet friends at the Leinbach Center for lunch following the graveside service.

Lucille Frances the daughter of Martin A. and Emma E. (Knox) Glaman was born on September 24, 1920 in Jewell. Lucille was raised and went to school in Jewell. Lucille married R. Cortland Luick on September 3, 1937 in Clarion. They couple made their home in Jewell. The couple was blessed with three children Michael, Mary and Helen. The family moved to Belmond in 1943. Lucille did sewing and alterations in for numerous people in the community. They moved to Goodell in 1955 and Lucille continued to sew and she also started to do paintings. Lucille painted many pictures of various things. They retired in 1965 and moved to Lake Cornelia where she continued making quilts, afghans, and other crafts. Lucille made many baby quilts for a memorial to her great-grandson, Quinton Pals, for the University of Iowa Hospital.

Lucille was a member of the Rebecca Lodge for 65 years and a charter member of Belmond Grandmothers Club. Lucille was the bionic grandmother having had her knees and hips replaced and her eyes and heart repaired.

Lucille is survived two daughters, Mary (Donald) Shaw of Belmond and Helen (William) Frey of LaGrange, IL, a daughter-in-law Mary Luick of Belmond, two nieces and one nephew, thirteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents husband R. Cortland, son Michael, grandson Brian Fuller and great-grandson Quinton Pals.
