April 1859 --- October 12, 1932

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Cobb-Phelps funeral home for Henry Barton, resident of Spencer, who passed away Wednesday, October 12 at the home of his son, Robert Barton, 249 South Center street. Rev. W. F. Hurst, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducted the services and a quartet composed of Mrs. Lloyd Santee, Mrs. John Mingus, Mrs. Della Hagberg and Mrs. Roy Noll sang "Face to Face," "No Night There" and "Shall We Meet Beyond the River." Pall bearers were M. L. Tatro, Elmery Harris, Ed Taylor, Clarence Kabrick, Charles Resmeland and C. H. Drown. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.

Beside his seven children, he is survived by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Sabra Gardner of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Flora Tyrrol of Woolstock and David Barton of Sioux City. All of the children were in attendance at the funeral. They are Robert Barton of Spencer, Mrs. Lettie Smith of Waterloo, Grover Barton of Sioux Rapids, Tracy Barton of Montevideo, Minnesota, Mrs. Pearl Fisher of Milford, Mrs. Orpha Neilsen of Clarion and Forrest Barton of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
