ELLSWORTH, IA - Scott Abell, 81, longtime Ellsworth resident, died at 5:15 last evening at a Story City hospital. He had been a patient there since Monday. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Ellsworth with the Rev. Romaine Barber officiating. Burial will be in Homewood cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral Home until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church.

Mr. Abell was born Aug. 3, 1884, the son of Lorenze and Augusta Abell. He had farmed for many years in the Ellsworth community. He was married July 18, 1917, [in Clarion, Iowa] to Nell Hawks. He is survived by his son, George Abell of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Swift, Newberg, Oregon, and Mrs. Edna Fetzer, Boone. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one brother. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
