June 11, 1869 --- February 11, 1950

William Frank Withers, youngest child in a family of eight, born to Abagail and William Withers on June 11, 1869 near Bedford, Ind. He passed away Feb. 11, 1950 at the age of 80 years and 8 months. About a year ago Mr. Withers underwent a serious operation from which he never fully recovered. He was educated in the schools of Bedford, Ind. He was united in marriage to Neva Gay Hall the 11th of September, 1894, and to this union 10 children were born. Mr. Withers is a member of the Christian church, his relationship to the body of Christ was made in Bryantsville, Ind.

The early part of Mr. Withers married life was spent as a salesman for the Pittsburg Steel Co., and other such firms. But the greater, part of his life he was a farmer. 35 years ago he moved to Eagle Grove and farmed east of town for 9 years, then to a farm at Winchester, Kan., for two years, from there to a dairy farm at Woodstock, Ill., for seven years. Then because of ill health, was forced to retire from active work and lived with his youngest daughter Hilda until 8 years ago when he came to the home of the eldest son Hall, where he made his home until his death.

He is survived by his wife, his sons and daughters, which are William Hall Withers of Melrose Park, Ill.. Mrs. Gay Lamfers of Williams, Mrs. Gail Foutes of Chicago, Ill., Frank Todd Withers of Webster City, Roy Ford Withers of Williams, Clifford Wayne Withers of Webster City, Mrs. Leoan Trower of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Hilda Crandall of Rupert, Idaho. He was preceded in death by two children, Fleetta and Kent Withers. Mr. Withers was a patient sufferer and will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband and father. His passing will be missed by all who knew him.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon at Wilson Chapel, Eagle Grove, Iowa at two o'clock. Rev. Dewey C. Kooy, pastor of The Church of Christ, Webster City, officiated. Burial was made in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.
