Lucille Bloxham, 82, of Clarion, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services for Lucille Bloxham will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church, 420 1st Street North West in Clarion. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

Lucille Alice (Anderson) Bloxham was born June 11, 1932 to Arthur and Sylvia (Benson) Anderson in rural Clarion. She grew up in the Clarion area and graduated from Clarion High School. As the eldest of 8 children, she helped her mother take care of her siblings. She also babysat for a number of families in Clarion.

Lucille was united in marriage to Robert Moore Bloxham on August 12, 1953 in Council Bluffs. The couple made their home in Clarion, and to this union, two children were born. Lucille was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Clarion. Her faith was incredibly important to her and helped her work through some of life’s trials with grace.

Lucille enjoyed all types of gardening, reading devotional and inspirational books, making Christmas candy, walking and going to garage sales. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, delighted in attending her grandchildren’s events and looked forward to the weekly Sunday get-togethers and other family celebrations. Lucille will be remembered for her strong independence, her appreciation and gratitude for the simple things in life and for providing sound and practical advice to friends and family members.

Lucille is survived by her daughter Betty (Raymond) Stockseth of Belmond; son-in-law Harold (Autumn) Truelson of Marathon, Iowa; grandchildren Andrea (Clint) Christians and children Cale, Cooper, Caroline and Caitlyn of Pocahontas, Susan (Mark) Potvin and children Noah and Simon of Princeton, Minnesota, Amy Stockseth of West Des Moines and Megan Truelson of Houston, Texas; sisters Agnes Hendrickson, June Shaw, and Delores (Joe) Reyna, all of Clarion; brother Gerald (Mary) Anderson of Mason City; along with numerous other family members and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1996, daughter Sharon Truelson in 2002, grandson Daren Truelson in 2001, sisters Patricia McFarland and Leona Tate and brother Bernard Anderson.
