LAKELAND, FLA – Robert P. Findson, 85, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Clear Lake, died Friday (Feb. 17, 1995) at his home. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Monday (Feb. 20, 1995) at Carpenter Estates, Lakeland, Fla. Robert P. Findson was born June 13, 1909 near Clarion to Charles and Martha (Kain) Findson. He attended school in the Clear Lake area, graduating from Clear Lake High School. On Nov. 7, 1942 he married Ruth McGowan of Clear Lake. He was active in 4-H, both as a member and a leader. He was a member of the late Marion E. Olsen’s Livestock Judging Team. Robert served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an Iowa representative for Central Livestock Association, South St. Paul, Minn. Robert and Ruth were active at Congregational Church, Clear Lake, until retiring in 1974, when they, along with Robert’s parents, moved to Lakeland, Fla. Following the death of Ruth, Robert married Jane Miller of Lakeland, Fla. Survivors include many friends both in Lakeland and the North Iowa areas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives.
