Jerry L. Christian, 79, of Aurora passed away surrounded by his family on January 3, 2015. He was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on August 12, 1935 the son of Morris and Lucille Christian. Jerry worked for Barber Greene in Aurora for 28 years and later went on to work as a custodian for District 131. He was a handyman and enjoyed fixing things around the house. Jerry loved his 66 Oldsmobile that he purchased brand new and also loved his motorcycles that he and his wife found much enjoyment in riding together. He had a passion for watching T.V. and he adored his family, and especially loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Robert Christian; and daughter, Mary (Dave) Morrissette; grandchildren, Johnathan (Sandi) Christian, Joshua (Elizabeth) Morrissette, Missy (Nick) Treadway, Kristin (Erik Espinosa) Morrissette and Connor Morrissette, 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Shirley; his son, John Christian; grandson, Jim Christian; as well as all of his siblings. Family will be receiving guests on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave., Montgomery, IL. Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
