A large crowd of friends and relatives attended the funeral on Sunday afternoon of Oscar Jenison, age 67, who passed away on March 30th at his home in town, which he bought last fall; retiring from the farm on which he and his family had lived the past 43 years. Mr. Jenison was always interested in community welfare and led a very active life. He taught school when a young man in Pleasant township but after his marriage began farming and had lived on the same farm until he bought the town home in November, 1943. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church with the Rev. H. Faris officiating. His children were all here. Those from away were his two daughters, Mrs. Jasper Johnson of San Marcus, Tex., and Mrs. Lola Olson of San Antonio, Tex., a son Donald, of Waterloo, and Lyle, yeoman 1/c, of San Diego, Calif., two other sons, Duane, residing on the farm, and Vere, of Belmond. The pallbearers were members of the Farmers Creamery association of which Mr. Jenison was secretary for 18 years, having resigned last year when his health began failing. Burial was in Belmond cemetery.
