Funeral service for Inez Bernice Noelck of Eagle Grove will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Mrs. Noelck, 81, formerly of Arcadia, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove following a long illness. Pastor Carl Noble will officiate the service. The casket will be moved to the church at 8 a.m. Casket bearers will be Guy Miller, Mark Miller, Terry Holmes, David Keller, Robert Bendlin and Teige Melby. Honorary casket bearers will be Justin Artemann, Lucas Bendlin, Logan Melby, Nathaniel Holmes and Morgan Melby. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery. Visitation starts at 3 p.m. and a prayer service officiated by pastor Gary Boen of First Lutheran Church in Clarion will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

A daughter of August and Anna Bertha Matilda (Borkowski) Jurgens, she was born April 5, 1919, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County. She was baptized May 29, 1919, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Audubon County and confirmed there on June 26, 1932, both by pastor Hugo Nieting. She and Elmer Henry Noelck were married Oct. 10, 1940, at her parents' home. They moved to a farm five miles west of Carroll in 1959 and farmed until Mr. Noelck died in 1976. Mrs. Noelck worked at Nelson Manufacturing in Manning and in the housekeeping department at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, and she had been a house mother at New Hope Village in Carroll. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dancing.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Miller, and her husband, Robert, of Galt, Iowa; a son, Royce Noelck, and his wife, Ruth, of Vail; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Noelck was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons: Randy and Steven Miller; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Bendlin; a sister, Alice Schrock; and her second husband, Dowel Johnson.
