Wilma E. Derrig, 76, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday November 16, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tim Geitz officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.

Wilma was born December 4, 1931 the daughter of William and Mae (Recoy) Hedlund in Fort Dodge, IA. On December 4, 1949 Wilma was united in marriage to Clayton Derrig in Chamberlain, SD. To this union two children were born. Wilma loved to travel whether on one of numerous cruises, wintering in Florida, or just going for a drive to see the sights. She was a great cook who enjoyed doting over her grandchildren making them all their personal favorites. Over the years she has enjoyed gathering with the ladies club in Vincent and spending time with the retirees from the hospital. Wilma was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Those thankful for having shared in Wilma’s life include her husband; Clayton, children; Matthew (Mary Lou) Derrig of Beverly Hills, FL, Kathleen (Jerry) Reeves of Otho, IA, one sister; Linda (Ken) Porter of Ohio, three brothers; Gene Hedlund of Oregon, Chuck Hedlund of Arizona, Billy Hedlund of New Mexico, three grandchildren; Sara, Aaron, Kristen, two step grandchildren; Betty, Raymond, and two step great grandchildren; Jolie, Marque Lace and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Derrig was preceded in death by her parents.
