Merlyn H. Reagan, 84, of Alden, Iowa, and formerly of Mason City, Iowa, passed away, Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation center, Eldora, Iowa, under the Care of Care Initiative Hospice. Graveside inurnment services for Merlyn and Joan Reagan will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Rowan, Iowa, on Tuesday, October 28, at 2:00 pm. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Alden Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Merlyn Howard Reagan was born November 10, 1929 at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Howard and Bertha [Elliot] Reagan. He graduated from the Iowa Falls Community Schools in 1948. He joined the United States Air Force and served until his honorable discharge in 1952. On July 27, 1958, Merlyn was united in marriage to Joan Ketchum. Merlyn worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Mason City retiring in 1988 and moving to Alden, Iowa in 1989. He entered Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 2012.

Merlyn Reagan is survived by his daughter: Renee Opperud; sisters: Margaret [Albert] Benning, Barbara [Robert] Hanson, Joyce [Steve] Adamov; a sister-in-law: Harriett Reagan, and a brother-in-law: Richard Ketchum. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Keith and Bud Reagan; and his wife Joan Reagan on February 13, 2012.
