Deborah (Granny) Kniesly, of Webb City, Mo. (formerly of Clarion, Iowa), passed away at her home on Dec. 7, 2014, after a courageous battle with lung cancer that metastasized to her brain. Per her wishes, she has been cremated. Her family in Iowa are holding a memorial for her at the Clarion fire station Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Coll (Mark Edgington); and grandchildren, Roy, Dillon, Morgan and Ryan; along with her son, Joshua Kniesly, and granddaughter, Julianne. Other survivors include her mother. Siblings, Edward (Gail) Smith, Richard (Pam) Smith, Patricia (Lynn) Barz, Robert (Melissa) Smith, Gene Smith, James (Becky) Flurer, and Janice Flurer; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.

Per her wishes, she has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Clarion Fire Station from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A brief memorial service and lunch to follow.

Deb was born to Beverly Lorraine (Day) Bonin and Clarence Winfield Smith on January 13, 1955. She spent the majority of her educational school years in Clarion, IA. She moved to Princeton, Illinois her senior year where she graduated from Princeton High School. Deb married Larry Nevitt in March 1977. To that union a daughter Wendy Lorraine (Nevitt) Coll was born. She later married Alan Kniesly in 1985 and to that union a son Joshua Lee Kniesly was born.

Deb spent the majority of her career in fields of service to others. Be that in the restaurant business or working with disabled children and adults. She never met a stranger and she delighted on going on excursions. Even during her final months she always felt she had to entertain her visitors.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Nevitt Coll (Mark Edgington) of Bagley, IA and her grandchildren: Roy Howard Coll III, Dillon Lee Storm Fenwick, Morgan Lorraine Edgington and Ryan Edward Edgington along with her son Joshua Kniesly of Des Moines, IA. and granddaughter Julianne Lynn Kniesly. Other survivors include: her mother, Beverly Bonin, of Clarion. Siblings: Edward & (Gail) Smith of Humboldt, IA, Richard & (Pam) Smith of Clarion, IA, Patricia Barz & (Lynn) of Dows, IA, Robert & (Melissa) Smith of Webb City, MO, Gene Smith of Oakdale, LA, James & (Becky) Flurer of Clarion, Janice Flurer of Clarion, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and infant brother Steven.
