Donna J. Hill, the daughter of Clifford and Dema (Daggy) Hill, was born April 27, 1930 on a farm near Renwick. As a child, the family moved to Goldfield where Donna received her education, graduating from Goldfield High School. She received her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and began teaching in Algona. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Stanley Schipull at the Eastside Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home on a farm near Goldfield before moving to their farm north of Renwick. Donna continued her teaching career as a substitute teacher for the Boone Valley School District in addition to raising her children. In 2001, Donna and Stanley built their new home in Clarion where they remained until moving to Springvale Assisted Living in Humboldt in September of this year.

Donna was an active member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star where she was a past member of the national committee. Donna got interested in collecting teddy bears while helping with the teddy bear convention in Clarion. A sports fan, Donna played basketball for the Goldfield town team in her younger years and enjoyed supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes. Donna especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the 22 winters she spent with Stan in Mesa, Arizona.
