Livermore - Funeral services for Cecil L Smith, 68, were held Friday at 2 a.m. at the Livermore Methodist church with the Rev Worthie Usher officiating. Mr. Smith died Wednesday evening at his home in Livermore where he had been ill for some time.

He was born July 31, 1891 at Hardy. His parents were John and Anna Smith. He was united in marriage with Mary Corneil Scribner Dec 18, 1915 at Algona. They have lived at Livermore the past 34 years where he has been the sexton at the two Livermore cemeteries until his health failed. Special music was furnished by Mrs. Worthie Usher accompanied by Mrs. Rasmus Olson. Casket bearers were Berdine Nygaard, Luther, Nygaard, Norman Scott, Donald Schultz, Dwayne Miller, and Donald Holmes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife, one son Virgil Smith, and two daughters: Mrs Opal Jones and (Marvel) Mrs Howard Barton, all of Livermore and 17 grandchildren. Interment was in the Union cemetery at Livermore with the Lindhart funeral home in charge of arrangements.
