September 9, 1894 ----- June 3, 1985

Joseph P. Ehrhardt, 90, retired Livermore area farmer, died of cardiovascular failure Monday evening, June 3, at the South Care Center in Humboldt. Funeral Mass for him was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Livermore, the Rev. G. R. Wingert celebrant of the Mass. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilson's of Livermore in charge of the arrangements. Casket bearers were grandsons; Dan Ehrhardt, Dennis Vaudt, Mick Hellickson, Jason Hellickson, Brian Hilbert and Michael Witham.

Joseph P., son of Peter Joseph and Catherine Kerker Ehrhardt, was born at Pontiac, Illinois, Sept. 9, 1894. The Ehrhardts moved from Pontiac to Iowa when Joseph was a young boy and he received his education in rural schools. He farmed at home for a time with his brother, Leo, then married Doris Marlas at Humboldt Feb. 6, 1930. The Ehrhardts farmed in the Hardy and Livermore areas until he retired in 1973. They had moved into Livermore to live in 1964 and Mrs. Ehrhardt died June 1, 1981. Joseph enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by 3 sons and 8 daughters; Ralph, Fort Dodge; Paul, Otho, Ia.; Richard, Livermore; Beulah Taylor, Fort Dodge; Wanda, Mrs. Douglas Moseley, Rancho Palo Verdes, Calif.; Mary, Mrs. Wayne Vaudt, Rembrandt, Ia.; Irene, Mrs. Robert Hilbert, Superior, Ia.; Barbara, Mrs. Willis Hellickson, Humboldt; Monica Witham and Celeste, Mrs. Barry Jamieson, both of Fort Dodge and Annette, Mrs. Richard Grouse, Hardy. There are 30 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Four sisters and a brother also survive; Theresa Howe, Scranton, Ia.; Mildred Hanna, Fort Dodge; Rita Haas, Henderson, Nev.; Delores Smith and Ralph Ehrhardt, both of West Bend. Also deceased are a daughter, Carolyn Weber; 3 brothers, Leo, Viatur, and Raymond; and 2 sisters, Gertrude Anderson and Lou Ehrhardt.
