James Bethell, 61, St. Cloud

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for James C. Bethell, 61, 1317 Roosevelt Road, who died Tuesday at his home. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Benson Funeral Home, and an hour before services Friday at the church. Eagles prayer service will be at 6:30 tonight at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

James Bethell was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Theodore and Myrtle (Rasmussen) Bethell. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1960. He married Joanne A. Roseland on Dec. 3, 1960, in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. He was employed as a printer for the Eagle Grove Eagle from 1960 to 1962, and for the Record Stockman of Denver from 1967 to 1971. They moved to St. Cloud where he was employed as a typesetter for Volkmuth Printing and then Quebecor Printing from 1971 until retiring in 1991. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a member and past president, vice president and chaplain of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622. Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Denise Decker of Foley, Brenda Johnson and Cory of St. Cloud, and Ted of Glenwood City, Wis.; sisters, Margaret Elkin of Eagle Grove, and Francis Adams of Sherburn; and six grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to St. Cloud Hospice Program.
