August 26, 1885 --- March 24, 1968

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth M. Devine, 82, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart church in Livermore, with Monsignor John Higgins of Winterset officiating. Burial was in the Calvary cemetery, Livermore, with the Hamilton funeral home, Algona, in charge. Pallbearers were Joseph Devine, Laurence Devine, James Devine, Thomas Devine, Paul Devine, and Dale Devine, grandsons and nephews.

Elizabeth M. Devine was born Aug. 26, 1885 at Eagle Grove. Her parents were Gordon and Anne Ryan Merril. They came to Livermore in 1902 and she was married in January of 1912 to Thomas Devine at Eagle Grove. They lived most of their married life in the Livermore vicinity. After her husband's death, Mrs. Devine lived in Winterset for nine years and came to Algona in December, 1987. She died Sunday, March 24, at St. Ann hospital.

Surviving are two sons, Robert R., Algona, and John M., Winterset; two brothers, Charles Merril, Luverne, Minn., Gordon Merril, Omaha; and two sisters, Helene, Mrs. Thomas Mulrady, Omaha, and Mrs. DeVauel, of Eagle Grove. Mrs Devine was charter member of the Elks Club.
