Neil D. Lister, 43, of Davenport, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics due to injuries sustained in an accident. Visitation for Neil will be on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Calvary Church, Muscatine. Inurnment will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Calvary Church. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Neil.

Neil David Lister was born December 21, 1970 in Mankato, MN, the son of J. Richard and Karen L. (Andersen) Lister. He was employed by Road Machinery and Supply of Milan, IL as a service parts manager. Neil was a very social and patient man as well as a great encourager and protector to those he loved. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, working with heavy machinery, playing kickball with the neighborhood kids and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Neil will be deeply missed by his fianceé, Kim Coker of Davenport; children, Jacob Lister of Cedar Falls, Joseph Lister of Mason City and Dane Lister of New Jersey; step-children, Clayton and Parker Coker of Davenport; his unborn son, Sawyer Neil David Lister; mother, Karen Lister of Columbia, SC; sister, Kaaren Rue and husband, John, of Columbia, SC; nephews, Zachary and Joshua Rue; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Neil was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his father.

The 42-year-old pedestrian who was seriously injured when he was hit by a sport utility vehicle Sunday in Davenport has died, Davenport police said. Neil Lister, of Davenport, was being treated at University Hospitals, Iowa City, for serious injuries he suffered in the crash. At approximately 8 p.m. Monday, the Davenport Police Department was notified that he had succumbed to the injuries. Lister was trying to cross Washington Street just north of Locust Street at 12:08 a.m. Sunday when a GMC SUV traveling north struck him. The SUV was driven by Daniel Jeffries, 41, of Davenport, police said. Lister initially was treated at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport, before being transferred to University Hospitals. The driver of the involved vehicle is Daniel Jeffries, 41, of Davenport. The crash still is under investigation by the Davenport Police Crash Investigation Unit.
