Neal John Mehus, 56, of Radcliffe, died at his home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Visitation will be 2:00 pm – 4:00pm, Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Burial will be at Eldora City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Neal was born June 10, 1958 in Belmond, Iowa, son of Joseph and Evelyn (Pringnitz) Mehus. He grew up in the Kanawha, Iowa area and attended school there before moving to Eldora with his parents in 1975. He then attended Eldora High School and graduated with the class of 1976. On July 2, 1977 Neal was united in marriage to Nancy Jo Wagner in Eldora, Iowa. To this union they had two daughters. He worked in the heating and cooling business for a number of years and then worked for Alltech in Eldora. Neal loved spending time with his friends and family especially his grandkids. He enjoyed cooking, working with small engines, giving a helping hand to others, and his cats.

Neal is survived by his wife Nancy of Radcliffe; daughters, Kris (Chad) Ralston of Hubbard, Angela (Lloyd) Bare of Pella; sisters, Adela (Dale) Niedermann of Ankeny, LaVon Pfeifler of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Eli, Malachi, Emma, Zechariah Ralston, Lillian and Maddox Bare. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carla.
