Resided in Altoona, IA - Marlene Ruby (Nelson) Billings, 77, passed away Wednesday November 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Iles Funeral Homes Grandview Park Chapel.

Marlene was born on July 5, 1937 to Marion and Ruby Nelson in Goldfield, Iowa and was the second oldest of four children Gary (Sharyn) Nelson, Donald (Judy) Nelson and Karen (Jerry) Tollefson. She married Daniel L. Billings September 27, 1959. Marlene graduated from Corwith High School and later went to Hamilton Business College. She worked at Commercial Credit, AMF Western Tool and landed her favorite job with the Principal Financial Group in Corporate Accounting. Marlene enjoyed her family, bowling, ceramics, collecting Precious Moments and Christmas. She also enjoyed attending Grace Church and Staves United Methodist Church. Marlene loved her kitty Rascal.

Marlene is survived by her daughter Kimberly Billings, son Todd (Diana) Billings. Grandchildren Norm (Andrea) Davis IV, Nikki Clearwater, Tyler (Christina) Billings, and Shelbi Sieck. Great grandchildren Steven, Qwaden, Natalie, Michael and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Billings, daughter Pamela Jo Billings and great granddaughter Jacquelen Holley Davis.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday November 17, 2014 at Iles Funeral Homes Grandview Park Chapel. A special thanks to Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation for her care. Marlene is at peace with the lord and will be greatly missed.
