Peter Ziegler Dies From Shock. Last week, Tuesday evening, Peter Ziegler while working at the Sugar Factory, was helping in switching a car and in some manner, which it has been hard to explain or reproduce, he was caught between a box car and the crane of the derrick car giving him a severe squeeze. The accident occurred about six o'clock in the evening and at first appeared to be of no consequence. It soon became evident, however, that the effect was becoming serious and he was removed to Dr. Steel's hospital. The doctor found that no bones were broken and apparently no internal injuries had been sustained and no internal hemorrhage had resulted. His back had not been broken. The shock which his system sustained however, he was unable to overcome and from that shock resulted his death about 12:50 o'clock that night.

Funeral services were held Friday in St. Francis church conducted by Father Eardley and interment was in St. Francis cemetery. Mr. Ziegler was a native of Russia. He leaves six orphaned children from three to thirteen years of age, his wife having died last February. A brother, George Ziegler, came from Colorado to attend the funeral. The children, five boys and one girl are being taken to homes in and near Belmond. The oldest, Adam goes to Conrad M... "Little Adam" and the girl, Lizz has been taken by Mr. and Mrs. Hellman and the baby George by Casper Kern. The other two boys, Peter & Nic have not yet been placed, but will be soon. The death of both parents leaving so many helpless children arouses all the sympathy of mankind and it is to be hoped that they will find good homes and worthy foster parents.
