October 18, 1918 --- January 27, 1989

Funeral services for Leola E. Loftus, 70, Humboldt, were held Monday, Jan. 30, [1989] at the First Assembly of God Church in Fort Dodge, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Humboldt. She died Friday, Jan. 27, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. The Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt was in charge of the arrangements, with Pastor Jonathan Smith officiating. Casketbearers were Fred Madison, Michael Loftus, Henry Blomker, Dennis Armstrong, William Campbell, and Merle Halsrud.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Raygor of Webster City; a son, Gary Loftus of Pocahontas; three grandchildren; a brother, Lester Edleman of Sun City, AZ; and three sisters, Thelma Bailey of Clinton, Edna Loftus of Davenport, and Evelyn Rudman of Sabula. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1975 and two brothers, Lyle and Melvin.

Leola Esther Edleman, daughter of William and Maude (Cox) Edleman, was born Oct. 18, 1918, at Joplin, MO, and was reared and educated at Clinton. She moved to Humboldt as a young woman and was united in marriage to John Loftus April 24, 1939. They farmed near the communities of Clare, Humboldt, and later Hardy. In 1971 they moved to Humboldt and she continued to maintain her home here following her husband's death. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Fort Dodge.
