Eva "Eve" Kinkaid, 86, of Roscoe, [Illinois] peacefully passed away Friday, October 17, 2014. Born in Clarion, IA on May 14, 1928. Eve had a lifetime love for flowers and gardening; she owned her own nursery, Eves Garden, in Clarion, IA. She also had a fondness for her animals and over the years had countless companions of cats, dogs and birds. To fill her extra time, Eve was an avid reader or could be found cooking, baking or knitting.
Eve is survived by children, Doug (Ellen) Nelson, Genia (Tim) Webb, Reg Nelson, and Rodney (Donna) Kinkaid; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husbands, Floyd Nelson and Harry Kinkaid; brother, Rex McCormick; sister, Lois May McCormick; daughter, Eveline Gilmore; and grandson, John Gilmore.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Atrium for their wonderful staff and courtesy while Eve was in their care. They would also like to let special family friend, Debra Tarara, know that her friendship and love given to Eve will never be forgotten.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be donated to the National Audubon Society.
