MRS. CHARLES DOXSEE

MONTICELLO -- Funeral services for Mrs. Charles A. (Alma K.) Doxsee, 79, were held Monday afternoon at St. Luke United Methodist church. The Rev. Denton Ericson officiated. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. Doxsee, widow of Charles A. Doxsee, former attorney and publisher of the Monticello Express for 33 years, died April 19 at the Extendicare in Rochester, Minn., after an illness of several weeks.

She was born at Thor, April 9, 1890, the daughter of O. H. and Anna Faraason Korslund. She received her early education in the Thor schools and attended the Business College of Des Moines. She was a secretary in the state Capitol office for seven years. She married Charles Doxsee on Feb. 7, 1918, and the couple made their home in Monticello. Mrs. Doxsee was a member of WSCS Shriner chapter, Order of Eastern Star, PEO, Ninety-four club and was also active in many other groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband, June 25, 1948, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include: three children, Mrs. Larry (Antonette) Burns of Phoenixville, Pa., Wilbur K. of Rochester, Minn., and Dr. George C. of Greeley, Colo.; 13 grandchildren ; a sister, Mrs. Pete (Clara) Nervig of LaCenter, Wash.; and a brother, Harry J. of Walpole, Mass. Casketbearers were Louis Morf, Raymond E. Adams, Albert McNeill, Marshall Wynn, Clarence Hosford and Leigh Clark.
