24 September 1862 --- 4 May 1959

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for Mrs. Minnie Hanson, 76, who passed away at the John McDonald hospital Monday morning after an illness of several months. Services were held at 9 a.m. at St. Luke Methodist church with the Rev. Sterling J. Baldwin officiating. Interment will be made at Hartland, Minn., with the Rev. Joseph Shefveland, a nephew of Mrs. Hanson officiating.

Mrs. Hanson, nee Korslund, was born Sept. 24, 1882, at Thor, Iowa. She was the daughter of O. H. and Anna Farason Korslund. She met John J. Hanson and the couple was wed Oct. 14, 1903. They made their early home at Marathon, Iowa, and Hartland. After the death of Mr. Hanson Jan. 1, 1911, Mrs. Hanson made her home in Eagle Grove. Since 1948 she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. C. A. Doxsee, wife of the late and former owner of The Express. Mrs. Hanson is survived by one son, Orvald J. Hanson of Charleston, W. Va. Also surviving Mrs. Hanson are two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are W. 0. Korslund of Kearney, Neb., and H. J. Korslund of Norwood, Mass. The three sisters surviving are Mrs. P. W. Nervig, LaCenter, Wash.; Mrs. G. B. Thomas, Inglewood, Calif.; and Mrs. Doxsee, Monticello.
Two granddaughters, Marilyn Kay and Donna Lee Hanson, survive her also. Her husband, a daughter and two brothers preceded her in death.
