Muriel Ione "Patty" Estlund, 90, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday June 27, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with burial following at Newark Township Cemetery, Vincent, IA. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Muriel was born on August 13, 1923 in Ogden, IA. At a young age the family moved to Fort Dodge. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School and then graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1942. She was employed as a dental assistant before her marriage to Delmar Estlund in 1952. They resided in Fort Dodge for a few years before moving to his family farm near Vincent where they lived for over 40 years. Following Delmar's death in 2001 she moved back to Fort Dodge. She remained an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the LWML. She enjoyed volunteering, cooking and sewing.

Muriel is survived by her sons Greg (Kitty) Estlund of Fort Dodge, Jeff (Debbie) of Davenport, IA and her daughter Meredee (Paul) Steburg of Fort Dodge; her grandchildren Joy (Ray) Wright, Kyle Estlund (Jessica Baldwin), Brooke (Jason) Cale, Erik (Layla) Estlund, Carrie (Pat) Irons, Janelle (Adam) Baker, Will "Ole" Estlund (Tawnie Bell), T.J. (Leah) Estlund, Tami Estlund (Travis Youngren), Aaron (Mindy) Steburg, Amanda (Jimmy) Coleman and Brandon Steburg; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way and 1 great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar; her parents Charles and Blanche Tonsfeldt and her siblings Faye, Morris and Jordan. Memorials may be left to the family for their further discretion.
