Paul William Knudtson Sr. Passed on September 4th, 2014 in the comfort of his home after a short but trying battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on January 6th, 1928 in Thor, Iowa he lived there until he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he became a decorated war veteran and served until 1966. He later worked at Nalley's Fine Foods in Tacoma until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, tinkering, and many years of RV travel with his wife Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, daughter Paula and stepson Danny. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 39 years, his children Genevive, Denisa, Paul William Jr., 7 stepchildren, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a lifetime of friends including his newest companion Burt the dog. He will be most remembered for his quick-wit and teasing nature. A visitation will be held Wednesday September 10th at Fir Lane Funeral Home in Spanaway, 2 PM until 7 PM. The funeral service will be held at Fir Lane Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Thursday, September 11th at 2 PM with graveside services to follow. There will be a repass held after the service in a private residence.
