PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Doris A. Koppe, 77, a former resident of Muscatine, died on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, in Palm Beach Gardens. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial: Letts Cemetery. Reverend Bruce Martin will officiate. A luncheon will be held at the Letts Community Center following the committal service. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Jeffrey Koppe.

Doris was born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Belmond, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Verda Shoopman Brayton. She married Keith Koppe on Dec. 26, 1954, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was a member of the Palm Beach Gardens Baptist Church in Florida, and a former member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Muscatine. She worked at Big Ten Sports Café in Muscatine. She also enjoyed watching Iowa and Wisconsin basketball. Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Jeffrey Koppe and wife, Karen, of Letts, Iowa, and Jerry Koppe of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Brayton of Eagle Grove, Iowa; three sisters, Naomi Soetebeer of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Carol Swanson of Iowa City, Iowa, and Judy Law of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a special family friend, Tom Staats of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and three sisters.
