SIOUX CITY -- Lyle Morgan, 82, of Sioux City, formerly of Clarion, Iowa, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, Iowa. A family memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard. Lyle's cremated remains will be interred at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Craig Cemetery at Craig, Iowa. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 724 of Brunsville, Iowa.

Lyle Milton Morgan was born on Jan. 22, 1932, in Sioux City. He was one of three children born to Martin Luther and Clara Violet (Johnson) Morgan. He received his education by attending the Sioux City school system, graduating from Central High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served our country for nearly four years. He then attended the University of Iowa. On May 11, 1958, Lyle was united in marriage to Marilyn Tammen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Craig. After their marriage, they lived in Sioux City, where two daughters were born. He learned the trade of abstracting in Sioux City before moving to Clarion in 1970, where he owned and operated Wright County Land Title.

He was a member of Rotary and past commander of the American Legion in Clarion until he moved to Sioux City in 2010. He was a member of the Christian Science Church. He enjoyed playing cards, watching Westerns and telling stories. Lyle moved to the Hubbard Care Center in April 2014.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Kollene Dreifke and her husband, Richard of Hubbard, and Loralie Ashton and her husband, Jack of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy VanderWeil of Sioux City; along with many other relatives and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Cecil; one son-in-law, Lyle Steiner; and one grandson, Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hubbard Care Center
