PARKERSBURG, IA -- Elizabeth Lois Adelmund, 83, of Parkersburg, died Sunday, Aug. 3, at Parker Place, Parkersburg. She was born Jan. 17, 1931, near Parkersburg in rural Butler County, daughter of Andy and Elizabeth Alberts Knock. On Feb. 14, 1950, she married Marvin Adelmund in Clarion; he died July 22, 2011. Lois graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1949. She worked as the bookkeeper for the lumberyard where Marvin was part owner, retiring in 2000.

Survived by: a son, Gary A. of Iowa City; two daughters, Sandy (Kenny) Capron and Shirley (Kevin) Kruger, both of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Knock of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Bonnie Toillion of Eagle Grove. Preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Markley, Hank and Wally Knock; and a sister, Esther Langfritz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to Hospice Compassus, First Congregational Church Ladies Guild or Bethel Reformed Church.
