Edith Rose (Rope) Kamprath, the daughter of LeRoy and Edna (Herzberg) Rope, was born November 21, 1933, in Clarinda, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Clarinda High School in 1950. On August 16, 1953, Edith was united in marriage with Elmer Kamprath in Yorktown, Iowa and served as a devoted wife for over 60 years. Edith worked as a secretary in Clarinda, Bradgate and Eagle Grove school systems. After retiring from Eagle Grove schools she continued working as a secretary/receptionist at Rotary Ann South until 2010. Edith was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and horseback riding.

Edith passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014, at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wendell Rope of Clarinda and twin sisters, Viola Buehsing of Burlington Jct., MO and Violet Goecker of Clarinda. Edith is survived by her husband, Elmer Kamprath of Eagle Grove; son, Jim Kamprath (Sue) of Iowa City; daughter, Sandra Wirth (Al) of Eagle Grove, daughter, Denise Whiting of Iowa City; five grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Marcene VonDielingen of Clarinda.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove Pastor Mark Peterson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
