Anna E. (Adams) Clausen
February 19, 1913 --- July 10, 2014

Anna E. Clausen, 101, of Clarion passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion. Visitation for Anna Clausen will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion with a Scriptural Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Funeral services for Anna Clausen will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Logan Christian Church, 205 East 8th Street in Logan with Pastor Rusty Hedger officiating. There will be a visitation at the church beginning at 11:00 AM on Thursday.

Anna Ethel (Adams) Clausen was born February 19, 1913 in Washington, D.C. to Linwood and Ethel (Burch) Adams. When she was 3 years old she moved with her parents and 2 sisters to a farm in Orange County, Virginia. In March of 1919 they moved to a farm near Woodbine, Iowa. She received her education in Harrison County rural schools and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1931. She taught in rural schools for 13 years and was a substitute teacher in the Logan Magnolia area teaching grade school and also Special Education in Logan.

She was united in marriage to Earl H. Clausen of Logan at the Church of Christ in Boone, Iowa on June 30, 1940. They made their home on the Clausen farm 1 ½ miles west of Logan. They had one son, Warren Earl Clausen. She made her confession of faith and was baptized in the Woodbine Christian Church in the fall of 1927 and placed her membership in the Logan Christian Church in 1940 where she was an active member, teaching in the Primary Department Sunday School for 37 years. She also helped with Vacation Bible School, was on the Senior Citizens and Encouragement Committee and served as Secretary of the Memorial Committee for several years. She lived on the farm for 55 years before moving to Logan in the fall of 1994 and then to Clarion, where her son and family are located, in August of 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Ethel (Burch) Adams; her husband, Earl Hans Clausen; two sisters, Lucy Massie of Fairfax, Missouri and Edna Bishop of Carlisle, Iowa; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Campbell of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mildred Virtue of Fresno, California; and 3 nephews, Randy and Jimmie Bishop and Lin Massie. She is survived by her son, Warren E. Clausen and his spouse Julianne (Waechter) Clausen and their daughter Kimberly Joy Clausen all of Clarion, Iowa; sister Nola Musgrave of Palmer Lake, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and many friends.
