Marilyn Geesman, age 88 of Middleton, Wisconsin and formerly of Burt and Eagle Grove died on July 11, 2014 at 2:33 am. Marilyn Viola Boettcher, the only daughter of William Walter Boettcher and Elva Viola Holding Boettcher was born on June 25, 1926 in Calmer, Iowa. Funeral services will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Burt Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Glenn Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Burt Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 am before the funeral services begin at 11:00 am.

On August 5, 1946, Marilyn was united in marriage to Howard R. Geesman in a small church in Sioux Falls, S.D. They made their first home in Burt, Iowa. Later moving to Odin, Minn. and back to Burt to retire. Marilyn and Howard moved to Eagle Grove in. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home, playing cards, and dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music, especially the Golden Oldies. In her 70s, Marilyn wrote a book which included all of her memories of her parents and her many travels and happenings during her married life. She titled the chapters; spring, summer, fall and winter. In the winter of her life, Marilyn bravely survived COPD and dementia which took away her short term memories. She lived the last few months of her life in the memory care unit of Attic Angel Place in Middleton, Wisconsin close to daughters Joan and Londa. She still remembered her children and was always happy to see them.

Marilyn cherished her husband of 67 years, Howard and her children, Nicholas Joel Geesman (Susan) of Hayden Lake, ID, Joan Marie (Jon) McCarthy of Madison, WI, Londa Lynn Geesman of Richland Center, WI, Pamela Joy (Dawson) Juhl of Eagle Grove, IA; seven grandchildren: Chad Geesman, Dawn Williams, Deon Juhl, Angela Page, Allison Salmon, Dani (Juhl) Eisentrager, Cameo Lease; great grandchildren: Nash, Bailey, Oakley, Riley, Ashley, Derek, Parker, Dayton, Jarika, Keegan, Adyssie, Jayden, Sean, Coraline, Dustin, Nicholle and great, great grandchildren: Hope, T.J., Raelynn Skye, and Saraina Faith. Marilyn is survived by her brother, William D. Boettcher and his wife Marilyn Ryan Boettcher of Clive, Iowa and their children Tamara (deceased), Billy Ray, Tara and their children.
