April 25, 1930 --- June 13, 2014

Kenneth Keigan, 84, of State Center, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the State Center Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in State Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in State Center. Burial will be in Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City.

Kenneth Clifford Keigan, son of Archie and Lillie (Singer) Keigan, was born April 25, 1930 near Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1948, and served in the United States Coast Guard. On October 19, 1952, he married Shirley Ann Rierson of Fort Dodge. The couple resided in several Iowa communities; including Webster City, LeMars, Williamsburg, Boone and most recently State Center. Ken started out in farming but spent most of his career in agricultural sales/service throughout Iowa, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed golfing, both with family and in leagues, including the Over 50 Men's League at Lincoln Valley Country Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his large family, watching westerns on TV, and sitting on his front porch.

Ken was preceded in death by Shirley, his wife of nearly 57 years, who died on July 21, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, infant grandson Joshua Keigan, and brothers Melvin and Vernon Keigan. He is survived by his children, Mike (Kathy) Keigan of Knoxville, TN; Gary (Becky) Keigan of Fort Collins, CO; David Keigan of State Center; Jim (Sherri) Keigan of Story City; Pam (Robert) Mack of Fairfield; Susan (Quintin) Gerard of Eldridge; Stephanie (Roger) Singer of Golden, CO; Tim (Tammy) Keigan of State Center; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, and his faithful dog Toby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family who will be donating to local churches and organizations.
