Mrs. Boden, 69, Dies in City

Mrs. Alta Boden, 69, Woolstock, died at 8 a.m. today at Hamilton county hospital where she had been a patient the past two weeks. She had been in failing health since June. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas church with Rev. D. A. Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. A rosary will be said at Foster's funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday.

Born Near Woolstock
Alta Mildred Boughton, daughter of Frank and Gertrude Boughton, was born July 18, 1879 on a farm in Wright county near Woolstock. She was educated and reared in that community. She took nurses' training at St. Joseph's hospital at Sioux City where she was graduated as a registered nurse. She practiced nursing at Sioux City for several years, later taking up the profession of embalming at Westcott's funeral home in Sioux City. She received her license as an embalmer at Sioux City. She was married June 3, 1919, to Francis Boden who was a switchman for the Great Northern railroad at Sioux City. After his retirement in 1938, the family moved to Woolstock to make their home. Mr. Boden died March 14, 1947.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Surviving are one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Chris Nelson of Kamrar, Arthur Boughton of Eagle Grove and Melbourne Boughton of Tucson, Ariz. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Boden was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Woolstock.
