February 16, 1932 --- June 2, 2014

Ruby Hamman, 82, of Webster City, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Slininger officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Ruby Mae Hamman, daughter of Jonathan and Pearl Shafer Hamman, was born February 16, 1932 at Blairsburg. She graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City in 1949 and from Webster City Junior College in 1951. From 1951 to 1955, she taught in the Dows Community School System (third grade). From 1955 to 1958, she worked at Hahne Printing Company in Webster City and from 1958 to 1989 she worked for the Webster City School System as Junior High secretary. Since retiring, she worked part-time at K-Mart.

Survivors include sisters and brothers, Gladys (Harold) Waters of Waukee; Roger (Charlene) Hamman of Bettendorf; Sharon (Richard) Wheeler of Webster City; Lyle Hamman of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Sharon Hamman. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and a former member of Business and Professional Women.
