October 6, 1859 --- March 7, 1932

Fisher Wressell, former Alden resident, was born October 6, 1859, at Adlingfleet, England on the River Don. When twenty-one years of age he came to the United States and in a short time entered the service of the C. St. P. M. & O. railroad at Blue Earth, Minnesota. In 1885 he went to Eagle Grove, entering the employ of the C. & N. W. railroad as a locomotive fireman. In the winter of 1888 he was promoted to engineer in which capacity he continued until he was pensioned on October 31, 1929. On New Years Eve, 1887, he was married to Emma Aline Wilber of Eagle Grove and to them two sons, Edmond F. and Chauncey M. were born. During the past two years Mr. and Mrs. Wressell have resided in Seattle where on March 7, Mr. Wressell died after a ten days' illness of influenza, aggravated by chronic asthma. Deceased is survived by his wife and two sons, Edmund, of Hammond, Indiana, and Chauncey, of Seattle; two Brothers and one sister, in England, and by three granddaughters in Seattle. Christian Science services were conducted last Monday at Eagle Grove at the Kubitschek and Kastler funeral home and the Masonic funeral service was also conducted. Members of the Masonic, Eastern Star, W. O. W. and B. of L. E. fraternities attended the services in a body. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
