MASON CITY -- Lisa A. Faust, 49, of Mason City died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City with her loving family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City with the Rev. John Gossman as celebrant. Visitation will be held Monday evening, May 26, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, where a Scriptural Wake service will begin at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Lisa's name to Hospice of North Iowa or Epiphany Parish.

Lisa Annette Carstens was born on Jan. 8, 1965, in Mason City, the daughter of George and Judy (Ryan) Carstens. She attended Mason City High School and graduated among the class of 1983. Following her graduation Lisa continued her education at NIACC before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa where she earned her Bachelor's degree in social work. On May 23, 1987, Lisa was united in marriage to Paul Faust at Holy Family Catholic Church; together they would be blessed with two children, Andrea and Nathan. For 12 years Lisa has worked at North Iowa Community Action as a social worker. Lisa cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Some of her favorite times were had on family vacations, visiting Alaska, Hawaii, and many other places.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her husband, Paul; her children, Andrea (Adam) Blanchard and Nathan Faust; her mother, Judy Carstens, Mason City; brother, George (Tina) Carstens Jr., Mason City; mother- and father-in-law, Dean and Carmine Faust, Belmond; sisters-in-law, Esther Carstens, Manly, Cindy Carstens, Reynoldsberg, Ohio, Denise (Harlan) Dorenkamp, Belmond, Dawn (Doug) Doughan, Britt; brothers-in-law, Bill (Marilyn) Faust, Vinton, and Don (Brecca) Faust, Fort Wayne, Ind.; many nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members and many friends. Lisa is preceded in death by her father, George Carstens, Sr.; and two brothers, Thomas Carstens and Joseph Carstens. Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.
